From Frustration to First-of-Its-Kind
Hi, I’m Soojee, Korean-Australian and founder of Hyesun. For years I struggled to find sunglasses that actually fit my face. Anything I liked slid down my nose, rested on my cheeks, or squeezed my temples.
During a trip to Japan in 2016, I had a realisation: the issue wasn’t my face. Most eyewear in Australia is designed around one standard face shape, leaving out people with low nose bridges.
So in 2025 I launched Hyesun, Australia’s first independently owned eyewear brand focused on low nose bridges and wider facial profiles.
My goal was simple: design statement sunglasses, from luxe materials, that actually fit people with low nose bridges, fuller cheeks, and rounder faces.
