Like many Asian Australians and people with low nose bridges, we’ve spent years wearing sunglasses that don’t fit.

Sunglasses that pinch, slide down your nose, or rest awkwardly on your cheeks are more than just annoying. They are a quiet reminder that most eyewear in Australia hasn’t been designed with diverse faces in mind.

How can almost 19% of the population identify as Asian, yet there are zero Australian-owned eyewear brands offering Asian-fit and low nose bridge designs?

We decided it was time to change that.

Inspired by our Korean roots and our Australian lifestyle, we created a solution, not just for ourselves, but for anyone with a low nose bridge or anyone who’s tired of adjusting their sunglasses all day. We call it Hyesun.

Australia's first Asian-fit & Low Nose Bridge Eyewear Brand

Meaning “grace and goodness”in Korean, we’re the first independent Australian brand to create eyewear that looks good and actually fits low nose bridges.

Think zero curvature, a wider frame, and higher bridge support for sunglasses that sit *just* right.

No more pinching and sliding, just comfortable, iconic designs made from considered materials that reflect…well, YOU.

But Hyesun is more than the perfect fit for your face, we’re here to show the world we can all fit, too.

Sure, we designed our eyewear with Asian faces and low nose bridges in mind, but it turns out our frames are inclusive by design, offering comfort and style for all face shapes. (Surprise!)

While we champion our community, we don’t close the door on others: if our sunglasses feel good, look good, and make you feel like you, then you’re exactly who we made them for.

Hyesun about belonging, confidence, and showing the world that all faces deserve a perfect fit.

Who can wear Hyesun?

Just like Korean skincare, born from a culturally specific need but now embraced worldwide, Hyesun eyewear might have been created with Asian features in mind, but it solves a fit issue that spans communities.

Low nose bridges, higher cheekbones, wider facial profiles… These features aren’t exclusive to one group. Many people of Asian, Black, Indigenous, Middle Eastern, and mixed-race backgrounds face the same frustration: sunglasses that simply weren’t designed with them in mind.

You don’t need all the issues, just one might be enough to know Hyesun is for you.

  • Your sunglasses slide off your nose
  • Your sunglasses sit on your cheeks or lift when you smile
  • You get gaps between your frames and forehead
  • You experience pinching or pressure at your temples

We just designed eyewear that finally gets it right. If they feel good on your face, welcome.

Independent & Founder-Led

Hyesun is a self-funded female-owned brand, taking on an industry that's overlooked small noses.

From Frustration to First-of-Its-Kind

Hi, I’m Soojee, Korean adoptee Australian, and founder of Hyesun. I have always struggled to find sunglasses fit.

Anything I liked would slide down my nose, squeezed my temples, and never sat where they should. I was constantly adjusting, settling, compromising.

For years, I thought it was just my face. But the truth is, the eyewear industry lacked an option for people like me, those with low nose bridges, wider cheeks, and features that didn’t match the default mould.

So I spent 18 months building Hyesun. A brand that puts fit first, without compromising on design, quality, or style. For anyone who’s ever felt overlooked or under-designed-for, this is for you.
